Even though Dionysus’s Mythic Heroes abilities look underwhelming on paper, the debuff on his Ultimate alone is enough to make him one of the best boss fight units in the game.
The other abilities are not very important, making all Runes except Dark Runes irrelevant

Synergies
- Dionysus works well with carries that do a lot of single-target damage
- Amaterasu is the best one for that, even in PvP and PvE
Counterplay Dionysus Mythic Heroes
It depends if Dionysus has his Iconic Weapon at Level 600 or not:
- If he does not, it is best to simply ignore him and focus the biggest threat
- If he does, put a high mobility hero in front of him, or disrupt his carry (with heroes like Susanoo, Faust, etc.) so that the carry cannot kill whoever was hit by Drunken
Dionysus is not that strong in PvP so he is relatively easy to play around
