Bio

Titania is the queen of the woodland elves and is married to the fabled elf-king, Oberon. Her face is gentle and tranquil, making her vivid eyes and dulcet voice even more transfixing. Her wings look as delicate as those of a dragonfly, but they are hardly as fragile… Although they are flexible and translucent, they are remarkably strong and despite the eons of time she has had them, the wings are completely unblemished. She and her handmaidens frolic through verdant meadows and moonlit creeks in her enchanted forest. To see her in this realm, dancing and laughing, is to instantly fall deeply in love… no matter who you may be…

In contrast to Oberon’s emotional and preening nature, Titania is calm, reserved, and highly intelligent. It is this wit that is present in every living organism in their forest. The animals here are more lively and every leaf is brighter than in any other forest. This spirit is opposed to Oberon’s proud exuberance, and collectively, they personify the adaptive beauty of nature. Their contrast in temperament sometimes leads to conflict though…

As mentioned, Titania is reserved, and in fact, rarely shares information that she deems as private – with anyone. Oberon desires to know everything about Titania and becomes intensely inquisitive regarding anything that she refuses to talk about… One such thing was a little boy that Titania always kept with her. She treated him like a prized possession, and Oberon became intensely curious and jealous – wanting him as part of his own entourage. One day, he tried to grab the child, and Titania vehemently objected. The two quarreled, and Titania fled with the young boy deep into the wild forest.

She knew the forest as well as anyone and even Oberon had troubles finding her. He needed his most-trusted companion to help him find her, Robin Goodfellow. Robin was a Puck, or as they are negatively referred to, a hobgoblin (“hob” meaning elf). When Robin led him to her, he encouraged Oberon to quietly listen before he reacted. Robin, despite his playful nature, took this situation very seriously. After all, like the boy, he was an outsider too. While they listened, they heard Titania explaining how the little boy was the son of Titania’s close friend. Before her beloved friend died in childbirth, she begged Titania to take care of her son. After this, Oberon sighed deeply and calmed himself… He apologized to his beloved wife and the harmony of the forest was once again restored.
